A Hot Mess
Joe Wilson was found dead in his work office at Dirocco Paper Company in Oklahoma City at approximately 4:00 PM on August 13th, 2015. His day was supposed to be a typical day for the 42 year old man. His wife says that he woke up around 6:45 AM to take a shower and feed his dog. He then took the bus to his work. On his lunch break which was from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM he picked up some clothing that he had dropped off at Jake's Dry Cleaning. Before he left the dry cleaner's, he went into the men's restroom to change into his clean clothes. Joe had a business meeting scheduled at 4:00 PM that afternoon. From the dry cleaning business, he walked to his work office which was approximately 5 blocks. The August heat was at an all time high, with temperatures nearing 102 degrees. He returned to his work around 1:25 PM, according to his co-workers. He went into his office, which can be described as a 16 by 11 foot room with a door, and told co-worker, Mary, that he did not want to be bothered until his business meeting at 4:00 PM. When the meeting was about to start and Joe had not showed up, Joe's secretary, Claire Johnson, went into his office with the intent to remind him of his meeting. Inside the office was Joe's lifeless body. He was slumped over his desk table while he was sitting in a office chair. The green shirt that Joe was wearing when he was found dead had a suspicious white powder visible on the back of the shirt. His shirt was also drenched with perspiration on the neck, back, and arm pit areas. When forensic scientists ran tests on the white powder, it was discovered to be arsenic. Forensic experts believed that the hot August heat made the victim sweat, which caused the arsenic to absorb into his skin. At the crime scene, a jacket was found on the floor with a red hair on it - Joe, had brown hair. Hanging out of the left jacket pocket was a receipt to a local dry cleaning business, called "Jake's Dry Cleaning". On the receipt was the cost of the service, and the name of the worker that cleaned his clothes. That name of the worker was Ricky Evans. An OakTree Software coffee mug with blue lettering was on its side on the floor next to Joe's desk. No liquid was found inside the cup. A business card to Jake's Dry Cleaning was on the desk next to Joe's head. On the card was also the name and contact information of the owner, Jake Smith. Joe's secretary, Claire, was the one who found his body, and claims that she was the last one to see him alive. Another co-worker of Joe's, Mary Davis, claimed to have some information that could be useful to police. Following the investigation of the crime scene, police went to Joe's home to inform his wife, Kelly, of the unfortunate news. Kelly seemed more nervous than distraught, according to police.
